Maltipoo Breed Overview

Want to bring home an adorable Maltipoo puppy for sale? You’ve come to the right place. At Keystone Puppies, our mission is to help Maltipoo puppies find their forever homes. In addition to Maltipoos, we work with a range of other breeds — including Malteses, Maltichons, Mini Poodles and more! All our puppies are bred with the highest standards of ethical integrity — free of common genetic defects that impact less scrupulous breeders — and are raised in happy homes where they’re treated like part of the family before becoming part of yours!

Maltipoos are a hybrid dog breed that are the result of crossing a Maltese and a Toy Poodle. While the exact origins of the Maltipoo breed are unknown, it is thought that they were developed in the United States in the 1980s or 1990s to be the perfect family pet.

The Maltipoo is an intelligent and playful breed that makes an excellent companion animal. They are generally small dogs, weighing between 6 and 12 pounds, and they typically have a lifespan of 12 to 15 years. Maltipoos are low-shedding dogs and are considered to be hypoallergenic, making them a good choice for people with allergies. If you are looking for a loving and devoted pet, then the Maltipoo may be the perfect dog for you.

Maltipoo’s are recognized by the ACHC (American Canine Hybrid Club). This designer breed can also be registered through IDCR (International Designer Canine Registry) and ICA (International Canine Association, Inc).

Maltipoo Puppies Temperament

Maltipoos are considered to be one of the most affectionate and well-mannered dog breeds making them a great choice for first-time dog owners. They are also very playful and make great companions for children. These puppies tend to be quite mellow and easygoing, but can also be spunky and playful when the mood strikes them. They are usually good with other pets in the home, but may be territorial around strangers.

These dogs are intelligent and relatively easy to train. It is important to note that Maltipoos can inherit the Maltese’s tendency to bark excessively. As a result, it is important to provide them with early socialization and training to help prevent this behavior. Overall, Maltipoos make great family pets and are typically very loving and good with children.

Maltipoo Puppies Health Considerations

Like every breed of dog, there are a few conditions you should be aware of before you consider purchasing a Maltipoo puppies for sale. Understanding the risks allows you to know the signs and prevent small health concerns from turning into big ones. Maltipoo puppies are at a somewhat elevated risk for developing the following conditions:

  • Patella Luxation
  • Heart Disease
  • Diabetes
  • Allergies

Other common health problems for Maltipoos include respiratory issues and joint problems. Respiratory issues can be caused by the breed’s small nose, which can make it difficult to breathe. Because of their small size and fragile bones, Maltipoos often suffer from joint problems.

Finding a Maltipoo puppy for sale from a reputable breeder can dramatically — although, not eliminate — the risk of your dog developing some of these conditions. At Keystone Puppies, we work exclusively with experienced breeders who are committed to producing healthy & happy pups. Maltipoo Puppies Coat & Coat Care

Maltipoos typically inherit the Poodle’s curly coat, which can range from wavy to tightly curled. The coat may be any solid color, although white is the most common. These dogs require regular grooming to keep their coat in top condition. In general, the coat should be brushed or combed daily to prevent mats and tangles and clipped every 4-8 weeks to maintain a tidy appearance. It’s also important to regularly trim the hair around the eyes and ears to prevent irritation.

Because they are low-shedding dogs, Maltipoos are often considered to be good pets for people with allergies. However, it is important to note that no dog is completely hypoallergenic. Regular grooming and vacuuming can help to minimize allergens in the home.
