Shepadoodle Overview The Shepadoodle is a designer breed created through the cross of the German Shepherd and the Standard Poodle. The Shepadoodle is recognized by the ACHC (American Canine Hybrid Club) and can be registered through IDCR (International Designer Canine Registry) and ICA (International Canine Association, Inc).
  • Country of Origin: N/A
  • Weight: 50 - 100 lbs
  • Height: 18 - 26 inches
  • Color: The most predominant color seen today is black sometimes with white on the chest and paws.

Shepadoodle Temperament

Shepadoodles are intelligent, fearless and alert. They are playful, loving and make wonderful family pets. They make great watch dogs and loves a good romp in the yard. This breed is good with children.

Shepadoodle Health Considerations

One of the largest health concerns with the Shepadoodle is hip dysplasia. Other health issues to watch for can be:

  • Elbow Dysplasia
  • Epilepsy
  • Cancer

All mixed breed dogs have a better chance of having less health concerns because of their genetic diversity.

Shepadoodle Coat

Their coats can be curly & non-shedding, similar to the Poodle. They can also be short, dense & sometimes harsh in texture.

Brushing 2 – 3 times weekly will help prevent tangling & matting. If the Shepadoodle has predominant German Shepherd features, they will tend to shed a little. Brushing more frequent during those times will help maintain a healthy coat.
