Gerberian Shepsky Health Considerations

The most common health issue to occur in the Gerberian Shepsky is hip dysplasia. Other health concerns to watch for are:

  • Epilepsy
  • Elbow Dysplasia
  • Arthritis
  • Eye Issues

All mixed breed dogs have a better chance of having less health concerns because of their genetic diversity.

Gerberian Shepsky Coat

Their coat can be more like the Husky, which has a dense undercoat and a topcoat of short, straight hairs but can also have a hard, straight double coat like the Shepherd.

The Gerberian Shepsky breed requires frequent brushing, 2 – 3 times a week is recommended. During a seasonal change, they will require a bit more brushing to avoid having your house filled with many short, dark hairs. This breed should only be bathed when necessary.
