The Morkie is active, confident and loves attention. This devoted designer breed is highly protective of their owners and may nip if they feel threatened. The Morkie has a high level of alertness, making them excellent watch dogs.

Morkie Health Considerations

The Morkie life expectancy is between 12 – 16 years. Health concerns to watch for are:

  • Patellar Luxation
  • Eye & Ear Infections
  • Cataracts

All mixed breed dogs have a better chance of having less health concerns because of their genetic diversity.

Morkie Coat

Their coat is usually long, silky & curly. The Morkie coat is hypoallergenic, for the most part. They lose only small amounts of hair when bathing or brushing.

Regular grooming is necessary to prevent their coat from tangling or matting. You can help to prevent tear stains in this breed by bathing regularly and combing around their eyes.
